MNM plays pop, pop-rock and dance hits from the 1980s to today, including the Ultratop 50, for Flanders and Brussels in Belgium. You can stream it live and free right now on Radio Shuffle, wherever you are in the world.
Music and More
MNM stands for Music and More. It is a pop station run by VRT, the Flemish public broadcaster, and it broadcasts in Dutch across Flanders and Brussels, according to Wikipedia's entry on MNM. A companion digital station, MNM Hits, plays continuous pop music without presenter interruptions. The Dutch-language Wikipedia page describes it as an entry-level radio station, with the sound centred on pop, pop-rock and dance.
The Successor to Radio Donna
MNM started on Monday, January 5, 2009, with Peter Van de Veire, taking over from Radio Donna, which had begun on March 28, 1992, with Michel Follet. Donna was the most popular radio station in Flanders in its day, largely thanks to Follet's daily morning phone call show Jabbedabbedoe, so MNM inherited a big audience and a lot to live up to, as this Radio Donna retrospective recounts.
A Brand That Keeps Changing Colour
The station has refreshed its look a number of times. The logo was changed in March 2010, new jingles, programmes and hosts arrived in March 2011 along with the slogan "Music and More," and a redesign without the star followed in June 2018. In September 2024 MNM adopted a new pink and yellow logo and the slogan "Make Life Sing!", which is the look behind the sign in the image above.
Where MNM Fits
Inside VRT, MNM sits alongside Studio Brussel for alternative and rock music and Radio 2 for adult listeners. Its own lane is the pop hit, and it aims at people who want the Ultratop 50 and familiar favourites rather than niche genres.
