One flagship, a whole network of sister streams
TechnoBase.FM is not a single station so much as the lead signal of a small electronic music empire. Alongside the main techno stream, the station's own site runs HouseTime.FM for house, HardBase.FM for hardcore and TranceBase.FM for trance, each with its own dedicated audience tuning in at any given moment. It is run by BE24-7 GmbH out of Moers, a Rhineland city of around 100,000 people near the Dutch border.
A record label behind the airwaves
The TechnoBase.FM brand has a long paper trail in physical music too. Compilation albums under the TechnoBase.FM name have been released for years on ZYX Music, the German label Bernhard Mikulski founded in 1971 and which his wife Christa Mikulski has run since his death in 1997. ZYX built its name on disco, early house and 1990s techno, which makes it a natural home for a station built entirely around electronic genres rather than a crossover pop format.
Happy Hardcore gets its own hour
The station's schedule leans into subgenre specificity rather than one broad mix. Its HHC Culture show, hosted by RØMAN_G, is dedicated entirely to happy hardcore, the fast, euphoric strand of hardcore techno that rarely gets its own dedicated hour on bigger commercial stations. That kind of niche programming, alongside charts, a release database and a login-based song request box, is built for listeners who already know exactly which corner of electronic music they want.
A techno station in an unlikely jazz town
Moers itself is better known internationally for something almost opposite in spirit: the Moers Festival, an international free jazz and improvised music event founded in 1972 that now runs each Whitsun weekend in its own purpose-built festival hall. A small Ruhr-adjacent city hosting both a decades-old free jazz institution and a round-the-clock techno and trance network says something about how much room a modest German town can make for very different kinds of musical obsession.
