Radio 078 streams nothing but 80s hits and classic dance remixes around the clock, broadcasting from Dordrecht in the Netherlands and named after the city's own telephone area code. Stream it live and free right now on Radio Shuffle, no account or app required.
Built by former pirates
Radio 078 launched in 2013, founded by a group of DJs who had previously run shows on local pirate radio stations around Dordrecht before bringing that same energy to a legal, internet-only format. That pirate radio lineage explains the station's confidence in sticking to one decade without apology, a station built by people who already knew exactly what their audience wanted to hear.
24 hours of the 80s, with the DJs who lived it
The station's own schedule runs 80s hits seven days a week, 24 hours a day, but weekends bring something harder to fake: actual DJs from the 1980s hosting their own shows, including Disco Reloaded, SoundCheck, De Hitfabriek and De Swingende Hit Middag. Having original era DJs behind the microphone gives the station a credibility a pure algorithm playlist could never match.
A mix series approaching its own milestone
Radio 078 also runs Club 078, a Friday night mix show blending 80s influenced club and dance remixes, built around a rotating cast including André van den Dikkenberg, whose own Weekendvibes mix reached its 75th edition by September 2025. That kind of numbered milestone, maintained consistently for years, points to a loyal weekly audience rather than a casual side project.
A named synth sister stream
The station has expanded its own identity further with 078 Synth, a companion stream presented by Hans Prisma and dedicated specifically to synth driven 80s sounds, giving listeners who want the decade's electronic side a more focused option alongside the main hits format. Between the main station, the weekend DJ shows, Club 078 and its synth-focused sister stream, Radio 078 has built a surprisingly complete 80s universe out of a single Dutch city's area code.
