WUMB Acoustic Music Camps streams a 24/7 channel built entirely from recordings made by adult campers who have attended WUMB's folk music camps, not professional artists chasing radio play. It is free to listen right now, anywhere in the world, no account required.
A Stream Where Every Voice Has Earned Its Spot
The rule here is strict and unusual for internet radio: every single performer on this channel must have attended at least one WUMB Acoustic Music Camp, and only camp alumni may submit a recording at all. Submissions run as original compositions, traditional songs or covers, capped at five minutes each, turning the stream into a running archive of an actual community rather than a curated playlist built by a programmer.
Nearly Thirty Years of Adult Music Education
WUMB's Acoustic Music Camps have run for close to three decades, teaching adult students flatpicking and fingerstyle guitar, fiddle, banjo, mandolin, voice, blues styles and songwriting, alongside sound reinforcement skills, through week-long and weekend sessions held at sites including Groton, Massachusetts, and the Geneva Point Center in New Hampshire. Patty Domeniconi runs both WUMB Radio as general manager and the Acoustic Music Camps program as its director, giving the station and the camps the same leadership and the same mission.
A Companion to Boston's Folk Radio Signal
WUMB itself built its reputation on folk, blues and Americana programming out of Boston, and this stream extends that same community-first instinct one step further, past the professional artists the main station plays and directly into the hands of the students that station's own camps have trained.
