From Anthems to Legends
The station launched on 21 December 2018 as Virgin Radio Anthems, one of two DAB+ spin-offs the Wireless Group introduced that day alongside Virgin Radio Chilled, both carrying the Chris Evans Breakfast Show and built around rock-leaning, guitar-based hits from the 1980s and 1990s. On 31 March 2025, the station rebranded as Virgin Radio Legends, shifting its playlist further back to span the 1960s through the 1980s while keeping Evans' breakfast show as its anchor.
