U-Radio Trance streams uplifting and melodic trance live from Poland, a country whose electronic scene has quietly produced some of the genre's most respected names. You can stream it free anytime on Radio Shuffle.
A Genre Built on Tension and Release
Trance runs on a specific structural trick: a mid-track climax followed by a breakdown that strips away the beat entirely, leaving a melody or atmosphere to float on its own before the track builds back up again. According to genre breakdowns of the style, uplifting trance pushes that formula further with longer major-key chord progressions, extended breakdowns, and a buildup-breakdown-anthem pattern borrowed partly from hard trance, chasing a deliberately euphoric, floating quality rather than pure dancefloor aggression. That is the sound U-Radio Trance is built around.
Poland's Own Trance Lineage
Poland's trance scene traces back to around 1998, when early Polish DJs got hooked after encountering Berlin's Love Parade and sets from Paul van Dyk and Marusha, according to accounts of the country's electronic music history. That early exposure eventually produced genuinely influential artists. Krzysztof Pretkiewicz, who records as Nitrous Oxide, became the first Polish DJ signed to Anjunabeats, the label built by Above & Beyond that is as close to a trance institution as the genre has, after discovering uplifting trance in the early 2000s through Above & Beyond's own music. Tomasz Popielarski, known as Arctic Moon, found trance later, in 2007, after already producing music since his teens, and built his own following within the same scene.
That is the lineage a dedicated Polish trance station sits inside: a country that came to the genre slightly later than its German and Dutch neighbors but produced artists who went on to record for the same labels that define trance internationally.
What You'll Actually Hear
