Technolovers - BASS HOUSE streams a single genre around the clock: bass-driven house, blending club house, deep house, electro and progressive house into one continuous German feed. Press play on Radio Shuffle and it streams instantly, free, with no account or app download required.
One of more than twenty single-genre channels
The station is part of Technolovers.fm, the electronic music arm of RauteMusik, a Cologne-based internet radio operator running since 2003 that splits techno, trance, hardstyle and house into more than twenty separate genre-specific streams rather than blending them into one generalist station. Sister channels cover everything from straight techno to Afro house; this one exists purely for listeners who want bass house and nothing else.
A genre built from UK garage's bass end
Bass house grew out of the bass-heavy end of UK garage and dubstep in the late 1990s and 2000s, as producers pushed house music's four-on-the-floor structure toward the deeper sub-bass and syncopated rhythms those South London scenes had pioneered. Industry accounts trace an early version of the sound to Basement Jaxx's late-1990s blend of funky house and UK garage, a hybrid that fully coalesced into its own genre by the mid-2010s behind artists like Jauz, Tchami and Ephwurd. It is that bass-forward lineage, rather than house music's smoother four-on-the-floor side, that Technolovers - BASS HOUSE keeps on repeat.
