"Joining forces" across two continents
The name Sanib Pwersa is Tagalog for "join forces," and that is exactly what the stream does. It pairs 101.7 Your Love FM, a station under the Manila Broadcasting Company's Love FM network, with 90.5 Heart FM, a Filipino-language station broadcasting out of Riyadh. The two outlets run as one combined channel, splicing Manila-style OPM and talk segments with a signal built for Filipino workers living thousands of kilometers away in Saudi Arabia.
Radio for a community of overseas workers
That Riyadh half of the pairing exists because of scale. The Philippines' OFW Party-list has put the number of Filipinos working in Saudi Arabia at roughly 864,000, among the largest overseas Filipino worker populations in any single country. Stations serving that audience, including Heart FM, format their programming to the gap between home and the Gulf, mixing OPM hits and Tagalog talk with the kind of news updates that matter specifically to workers far from family. Sanib Pwersa's pairing with a Manila station lets listeners in either market, or anywhere else in the world, hear the same combined signal.
