RADIOWAVES streams a one-person mix of jazz, world music, funk and late-night soft sounds around the clock, hosted on Toronto streaming infrastructure and run by Italian broadcaster Marco Fantasia. Press play on Radio Shuffle and it streams instantly, free, with no account or app download required.
A daily lineup built around three moods
The station runs a fixed daily schedule rather than one genre on repeat. Jazz "in every shade," with touches of world music, fills the hours from 6am to 7pm, before The Funky Hour takes over from 7pm to 8pm with funk classics, and Nightshift eases the station into soft, late-night listening from 9pm through to dawn. The whole signal runs through Torontocast, a Canadian internet radio host, which is why RADIOWAVES carries a Toronto base even though it is built, voiced and branded in Italian by Marco Fantasia, who runs the station's companion website and its own "Chi Sono" (about) page under his own name.
Rights cleared the Canadian way
Unlike most Italian-language online stations, which answer to the royalty body SIAE, RADIOWAVES clears its broadcast rights through SOCAN, the Canadian performance rights organization. It is a small detail, but it reflects where the station's signal actually lives: Toronto infrastructure carrying an Italian host's daily mix out to listeners anywhere in the world.
