A ministry station built on a simple message
The station is owned and operated by CrossFaith Ministries, with a stated mission to bring what it calls the "Message of the Cross" to listeners and to be a positive, encouraging presence rooted in the love of Christ. According to the station's own site, its programming grows out of more than 80 years of ministry work, and it carries a live Sunday service at 11 a.m. Central time alongside round-the-clock gospel music, sermons, and Bible teaching, with hourly news updates layered in throughout the day.
Broadcasting from a town shaped by two rivers and a railroad
Grenada sits in north-central Mississippi on ground with a longer history than its population of roughly 13,000 might suggest. The town formed in 1836 when a Methodist minister, Abraham Lucas, merged two neighboring settlements, Tullahoma and Pittsburg, and early trade moved along the Yalobusha River before the Mississippi Central Railroad reached the county by 1860. A building boom between 1880 and 1920 left Grenada with a historic commercial and residential district that still stands today, and the town once hosted Grenada College, a Methodist women's junior college whose assets were later transferred to Millsaps College. It is a place where institutional faith, in colleges and churches alike, has shaped the town for nearly two centuries.
