Born on Denmark's Fifth FM Channel
Nova began broadcasting on 8 September 2008, after SBS Broadcasting acquired the rights to Denmark's fifth national FM channel once TV 2 sold off its radio operation. TV 2 retained a 20% stake at first and produced the news until 2014, when Berlingske Media took over. The big shift came in April 2015, when Bauer Media Denmark, part of Germany's Bauer Media Group, took over the station from SBS Radio.
It has held that ground ever since. In 2022 Bauer won the FM5 licence renewal for a further eight years, through to 2030, on a channel that covers most of the country.
