La Radio Plus is a "Hit Music Station" from the French side of Lake Geneva, playing pop and chart favourites in French and beyond. Press play on Radio Shuffle and you can hear it free, with morning shows, afternoon music and themed streams that dip into classics, French pop, club and Latin sounds.
What You Will Hear
The station's own programme page shows a classic music-radio day: a morning show with Morgan et Marion from 6h to 10h on weekdays, then Lucas, Alice and Alexis carrying the day through to 20h, with a different weekend line-up. Beyond the main signal it runs themed web streams, including La Radio Plus Classics, French Touch, Club and Latino, so you can pick a mood rather than a decade. It calls itself "Radio Non Stop," and the format is exactly that: hits, familiar voices and not much fuss.
Born From a Merger in Annemasse
According to French Wikipedia, Radio Plus was created in Annemasse in 1983 through the merger of four local stations: Radio Evasion, KTFM, Radio Club and Cosmic. That was the free-radio era in France, when small local transmitters were multiplying and consolidating. In 1989 it was taken over by Radio Thollon and became "Thollon, la Radio Plus," a name later shortened to La Radio Plus. The Espace group acquired the station in the 2000s, and today the network is a member of the SIRTI and Les Indés Radios groups of independent broadcasters.
A French Station With a Swiss Business Model
The most unusual part of the story is geography. The station was created to reflect the local population of the Chablais, the Haute-Savoie area south of Lake Geneva, but it can be received across much of the Swiss canton of Vaud, and according to the same source it quickly realised that most of its advertising resources came from Switzerland. In other words, a French local radio found that its most valuable audience was across the lake. Its coverage today takes in Geneva, Annemasse, Annecy, Thonon, Cluses, Bonneville and Lausanne, and it is reachable on FM, DAB+, cable and streaming.
Why It Works Online
Border radio is a good fit for internet listening. The audience was never defined by a single country, and the playlist is built for a broad, bilingual, commuter-heavy region. On Radio Shuffle you can stream it from anywhere, spot a song you like with the built-in identification, and save the station for the next time you want easy French-language hits with the Alps in the background.

La Radio Plus is proof that a local station can grow by ignoring borders. Load it up on Radio Shuffle and enjoy a hit-driven soundtrack from the shores of Lake Geneva.
