Antena 1 Salvador streams international adult contemporary music mixed with local journalism on 100.1 FM, broadcasting from Salvador, the capital of Bahia and one of Brazil's most culturally distinctive cities. It is free to listen right now, anywhere in the world, no account required.
The First Antena 1 Affiliate With Local News
Antena 1 is a long-established Brazilian radio brand already consolidated in major capitals including Brasília, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, but Salvador holds a specific distinction within that network: it was the first Antena 1 affiliate in the country built with its own local programming and local journalism, produced behind the scenes by Bahia Notícias and Grupo Aratu, according to Bahia Notícias' coverage of the station's launch. The 100.1 FM frequency took on the Antena 1 identity after Transamérica Salvador was acquired by TV Aratu, led by Ana Coelho, together with Bahian businessmen Ricardo Luzbel and Léo Góes.
Journalism Alongside International Music
The station runs two dedicated news programs on weekdays, Bahia Notícias no Ar from 7am to 9am with Maurício Leiro and Rebeca Menezes, and Linha de Frente from 6pm to 7pm with Pablo Reis, both woven into a daily schedule built primarily around international adult contemporary music and traffic updates.
Broadcasting From the Birthplace of Axé
Salvador's own musical identity runs deep. The city gave the world axé music in the 1980s, a Bahian dance genre that built an independent local recording industry outside the usual Rio-São Paulo axis and helped turn Salvador into one of Brazil's biggest tourist destinations. Salvador also holds the distinction of being the city with the largest Black population outside Africa, a heritage that pulses through its music, Carnival and daily life, with axé's cultural significance marked by a 40th anniversary celebration during the 2025 Salvador Carnival.
