Absolut Hot streams pop, dance, and electronic hits live from Germany, part of a nationwide family of digital radio stations built specifically for DAB+ listeners. You can stream it free anytime on Radio Shuffle.
One of Six Programs on Germany's Second National DAB+ Platform
Absolut Hot is one of six stations, alongside Absolut Bella, Absolut Germany, Absolut Oldie Classics, Absolut Relax, and Absolut Top, operated by Absolut Radio from studios in Garching near Munich. The family runs on Germany's second national DAB+ multiplex, a platform built by Antenne Deutschland, a joint venture between Absolut Radio and Media Broadcast that officially launched nationwide distribution in October 2020. Of the sixteen broadcast slots on that platform, Absolut Radio fills several with its own programs and leases the rest to other national broadcasters.
Absolut Hot itself started life as a fast-tempo, beat-driven program available via DAB+ in Bavaria and Hesse before expanding its digital footprint further east. On January 31, 2018, it began broadcasting via DAB+ into parts of Saxony, specifically the Leipzig and Freiberg areas, adding event tips tailored to that Saxon audience as it grew its regional reach beyond its southern German base.
Built for a DAB+ Audience, Not Classic FM Dials
What makes Absolut Hot interesting is that it was never built around a single FM transmitter or a single city. It exists because digital radio in Germany created room for tightly formatted, genre-pure national stations that FM licensing never really allowed for, fast beats and dance-leaning pop with nothing else mixed in. That is the same structural shift that let niche formats across the Absolut Radio family find national audiences without needing a traditional broadcast license in every market.
What You'll Actually Hear
